This is the Glass Window, a place where the 80 mile long island narrows to a few dozen feet.
There used to be a natural rock bridge and people sailing on one side could look out to the water on the other side. A large tsunami wave swept over the island and destroyed the natural bridge and swept away a number of people picknicking on the shore.
After the present bridge was built a hurricane shifted it several feet on its pilings. The Bahammians just propped it up a little and made it into a one lane bridge.
