Bahama 2016 Preparation
3/27/2016 Sunday
The lists are getting shorter and the piles are getting larger. Is all this stuf going to fit? And this does not include the beer.
We are experimenting with vacume bagging our cloths to help with storage and keep them fresh.
Seal a Meal is working great and will run on the small inverter on the boat.
I made a box the same size as our freezer so the frozen food should fit when we take it to the boat.
An article in a boating magazine mentioned organizing cans in vertical tubes so I decided to make my own version of a beer elevator.
Still lots of things to do but we are hoping to leave in early April
So little by little I am learning to provision for the boat or should I say the house on the water. One web site I found to be very helpful is
called The Boat Galley. How to store fruits and vegetables in a limited area. One spoon mayonnaise( no refrigeration required).
How many cans of tuna fish, chicken, and assorted can veggies to bring all in a time span of one month. Restocking along the way.
Labeling the food, and keeping a record of where everything is stowed on the boat, starboard, port, forward, aft.
And most important is RUM, BEER, and box WINE out of the box.
Last but not least FIRST AIDE KIT or should I say mini emergency room along with our prescribed medications.
And of course not to forget my feminine side, pink lipstick, light pink nail polish, pair of earrings, nautical dress and a pair of silver stud sandles for meeting the public.
And while we are at sea, my goal is to learn one aspect of sailing each week while we are sailing.
So there you have it, after a long period of preparation and planning Richard&I begin our sea adventure.
Getting WINIM ship shape for the big voyage.
